Birthday Trip to Seaside

What a cool trip it was!
Cara and I went to Seaside for the weekend for my birthday. Although it rained a lot of the time we had a very nice time. On our last night there, Saturday, we were sitting in “Dundees Bar & Grill” on Seaside’s main street “Broadway” and watching the NFL playoffs. Yes, I know we could have done this anywhere but… “Those are the rules” — Sobchak. As I was sitting there trying to figure out what my “other” surprise was and why I had to wait until 3:00 to get it, there walked in my brother Jake and his girlfriend Erin. I was definitely surprised.
As you can tell from the pictures we got western style pictures taken at the “Carousel Mall” also on Broadway. Cara had seen this photo studio earlier and was very excited to do it. At the time I could not figure out why she insited we wait unitl 3:00 to do it 
After the picture session and a little shopping we went back to Dundees to eat and catch the rest of the game. This being January there were very few tourists around so the bar mostly had locals. A bunch of good ol boys and girls having fun at the local pub.
Dinner was surprisingly good; it’s too bad I can’t say the same about the Football. Both of the teams I wanted to win lost and now that Cincinnati is out I really don’t have much of a reason to watch playoffs. But of course I will. We wandered back to the hotel after a pitcher or two at the bar and got into our swimsuits. The hotel had a hot tub, sauna, and pool which we spent a good amount of time at over the weekend. We spent about an hour at the pool then went back to the room, played afew card games and called it a night.
I was very pleased that Cara wanted to spend my birthday in Seaside because I really like it there and she had never been there. It was a great time and the surprise from Jake and Erin was a great birthday present.
Our last stop was the Tillamook Cheese Factory which is always a fun stop.
